“Terroir” is the French word used to describe the characteristics of the plantation upon which the tea is grown, deriving from the late Latin term “terra”, which means land.
It includes variables about the land such as soil, climate, altitude and location (latitude). these important factors influence the end flavour of the tea and the growth of the tea plant. It also accounts for the different flavours and aromas contained within the final product.
